The partnership between Airbus Helicopters and Indamer to offer state-of-the-art after-market services for helicopters in India would greatly advance the growth of the nation’s rotary-wing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) ecosystem.
Indamer will offer MRO services for Airbus helicopters at its facilities in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Nagpur with permission from Airbus Helicopters. Today, in the presence of Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director, Airbus India and South Asia, Sunny Guglani, Head of Helicopters, Airbus India and South Asia, and Romaine Trapp, Executive Vice-President, Customer Support and Services for Airbus Helicopters, Prajay Patel, Director, Indamer Aviation Pvt. Ltd., the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, officially opened the facility in Nagpur.
For Airbus Helicopters, creating and maintaining a robust, end-to-end rotary-wing aircraft ecosystem in India is essential. Romain Trapp, Executive Vice-President, Customer Support & Services for Airbus Helicopters, stated, “With Indamer, we aim to cater to our growing fleet in India and the future potential while at the same time bringing in the technical competencies that will help advance India’s helicopter MRO ambitions.”
“More than ten years ago, Indamer strategically decided to launch its rotary-wing maintenance and repair branch, focusing on meeting the growing needs of Indian clients for helicopters. The company’s dedication to this goal is what led directly to the award from Airbus. We continue to think that locally produced parts may successfully meet the maintenance needs of Indian clients. We share this common goal with Airbus, and we are appreciative of their acknowledgment,” stated Indamer Aviation Director Prajay Patel.
Faster maintenance turnaround times and an improved after-market experience for Airbus Helicopters clients in India and throughout South Asia are two benefits of the Indamer-Airbus Helicopters MRO.
The partnership between Airbus Helicopters and Indamer is the most recent example of Airbus’ growing industrial presence in India, which aims to provide the foundation for a developed, all-encompassing aviation ecosystem in the nation. These days, India develops, manufactures, and maintains vital technology and parts for all Airbus commercial airplanes and helicopters.
Already the biggest helicopter maintenance and repair company in India, Indamer has sites in Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune, and New Delhi. Since 2010, Airbus has dominated the domestic civil and parapublic helicopter market, registering over half of all newly registered deliveries. There are now about 125 Airbus helicopters in service throughout India and South Asia, mostly in the energy, commercial, and business aviation sectors. These aircraft include industry-leading models including the H125, H130, H135, H145, and Dauphin.
