Akasa Air Adds Varanasi As Its 14th Destination To Expanding Network

By Aritra Banerjee

India’s newest airline, Akasa Air, has added Varanasi to its expanding network of destinations. The carrier will offer daily non-stop flights between Bengaluru and Varanasi starting on 18 February 2023, with increased frequency from 1 March 2023. The route will connect Varanasi to Goa via Bengaluru, providing a seamless one-stop journey.

This is the airline’s second destination in Uttar Pradesh, following the launch of flights from Lucknow to Mumbai and Bengaluru at the end of December 2022. In just six months of operations, Akasa Air has built a significant national presence, connecting major cities to tier 2 and tier 3 cities with a fleet that grows by one aircraft every 15 days.

Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, says the company is “delighted to strengthen our nationwide connectivity and announce our second destination in Uttar Pradesh with Varanasi.” He added that passengers travelling to Varanasi and Goa from Bengaluru will soon be able to experience Akasa’s “warm and efficient customer experience backed by the most affordable fares in the country.”

Since its launch in August 2022, Akasa Air has carried over 1 million passengers and operates over 575 weekly flights on 21 unique routes connecting 14 cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Pune, Visakhapatnam, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, and Varanasi.

Flights can be booked through the Akasa Air website, app, travel agents, and online travel agencies. The airline is committed to offering warm, efficient customer service and reliable operations at affordable fares, and is socially responsible, with a firm order of 72 fuel-efficient Boeing 737 MAX aeroplanes.
