Aeromart: A Win-Win Three Days

By Kamal Shah

India counts. No longer an also-ran in the aerospace and defence industries many parts of the country have established impressive credentials in positioning themselves as hosts to the world. Aeromart is one such gathering of the faithful to meet and share ideas, concepts, and heavy-duty collaborations. Scheduled for July 1 through July 3 by BCI Aerospace it is backed to the hilt by a progressive-thinking government of Telangana.

With over 25 large companies and over 1,000 MSMEs in aerospace and defence sectors, Telangana does far more than adequately present itself as a global destination for aerospace & defence industry investments and partnerships. With over 25 large firms and over 1000 MSMEs having applications in the aerospace and defence sectors, it is the ideal venue for 72 hours of action and networking of high value.

So, with the scene now set for a special program designed to raise the bar let’s examine the texture of the dynamics. The organizers go on record as expecting 1000 participants from 25 countries to engage in over 8000 prearranged meetings and representing 300 major nations. Even if the numbers are a bit inflated for a three-day event and call for breathless itineraries it is a massive undertaking and a very powerful platform to move forward.

You might well ask why Hyderabad and indeed Telangana. Known for its strong IT contingents and setups, this region already has a tangible defence structure and investment in aerospace and defence entities like DRDO, DRDL, RCI DRDO, BDL, MDN, Ordnance Factory, DMRL etc. It also has a highly disciplined workforce and much of it is skilled and with experience.

This experience has been hands-on and gained at the helm of major globally recognized companies that have been able to attract large investments from the likes of Lockheed Martin and Boeing. General Electric and Pratt & Whitney have a presence in the power plant sector. Even SAFRAN an international high-technology group, operating in aviation (propulsion, equipment and interiors has established stakes as have Collins Aerospace and Honeywell. The GMR Aerospace & Industrial Business Park markets itself with zeal and relevance. Set in the heart of GMR AeroCity Hyderabad, an Aerotropolis spread over 1,500 acres it is a premium office corridor, the Business Park sees itself as an integrated gated office community with 0.5 million sq. ft already operational and 0.5 million sq ft standing by.

Let’s move on to July 1. And why you should make it your business to be there.

This event will feature exhibitions, conferences, networking sessions, and B2B meetings. It provides the ideal platform for companies to showcase their products, services, and capabilities to a global audience, thereby creating the right climate for striking deals, collaborations and deals within the industry.

We often forget the importance of the aftermath and the push offered by new relationships and one-on-one meetings. The strand effect is a vital element and one that marks the paths of future decision-making.

Hyderabad, known for its vibrant aerospace ecosystem with a strong presence of leading companies and research institutions, offers a conducive environment for such events. The city’s infrastructure, connectivity and hospitality make it an attractive location for hosting aerospace and defence gatherings like AeroMart.

Participants can expect to engage with key stakeholders, industry experts, government representatives, and potential clients, facilitating knowledge sharing and discussions on the latest trends, technologies, and challenges in the aerospace sector. The event should also highlight investment opportunities, research partnerships, and policy developments shaping the future of the industry.

Exhibitors at AeroMart Hyderabad are likely to represent a diverse range of companies. Major aerospace manufacturers will showcase their latest aircraft, components, and technologies.

Defence contractors will be intent on highlighting defence equipment, vehicles, systems, and solutions. These companies may showcase military aircraft, vehicles, weapons systems, and advanced defence technologies.

By the same token suppliers of components, materials, and subsystems for the aerospace industry who play a critical role in the aerospace supply chain, can share the latest innovations with aircraft manufacturers and operators. It is also a smashing event for multiple Research and Academic institutions to share their aerospace research, innovations, and breakthroughs.

Another important factor is the participation of government bodies, defence ministries, aviation authorities, and regulatory agencies. These exhibitors may provide insights into policy developments, regulatory frameworks, and government initiatives impacting the aerospace and defence sectors.

Meanwhile, emerging startups and innovators presenting disruptive technologies, ideas, and solutions for the aerospace industry can also absorb the atmosphere. Attendees can explore the exhibition area to discover the latest innovations, network with industry leaders, and forge strategic partnerships to drive growth and collaboration within the aerospace and defence sectors. It is a win-win situation right through the three days.
