Vietnam Airlines is taking an exciting new step in its expansion across India, bringing Gujarat closer to Vietnam with direct flights between Ahmedabad and Hanoi. Beginning 3 November 2026, the airline plans to operate four weekly services on the route, departing every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The new connection will make Ahmedabad Vietnam Airlines’ fifth Indian station, following its services to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
For travellers across Gujarat and neighbouring regions, the new flights promise a more convenient way to reach Vietnam’s capital. Hanoi is a gateway to a country rich in history, culture and natural beauty, and the service will also link passengers to Vietnam Airlines’ broader domestic and international network. Whether travelling for a holiday, a business meeting or a major industry event, passengers will have a new direct option between western India and Vietnam.
The launch represents more than an additional route on an airline’s schedule. It is a meaningful investment in the growing relationship between India and Vietnam—two countries whose connections are strengthened by tourism, commerce, business partnerships and personal ties. By adding Ahmedabad, Vietnam Airlines is extending its reach into one of India’s most dynamic economic regions and creating fresh possibilities for travel in both directions.
Ahmedabad: A promising market for travel and business
Gujarat is known for its energetic business community, strong commercial activity and growing appetite for international travel. Ahmedabad, the state’s largest city and a key centre of trade and industry, is a natural addition to Vietnam Airlines’ expanding Indian network. The new service is positioned to serve not only leisure travellers, but also business passengers and those attending meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions—the sector commonly known as MICE.
Vietnam Airlines Country Manager for India, Mr Nguyen Trung Hieu, described India as an increasingly important strategic market for the airline. He noted the growth in travel demand, business exchanges and tourism between the two countries, and said the Ahmedabad–Hanoi service would bring Vietnam closer to more Indian travellers.
He also highlighted Ahmedabad and Gujarat’s economic, business and tourism potential. The airline expects the new route to create more travel opportunities and strengthen connectivity between India and Vietnam. Vietnam Airlines, he said, looks forward to working with its partners, including Aeroprime, to develop the market and offer greater value to customers.
That ambition reflects the role direct air links can play in making international travel more accessible. A convenient nonstop connection can simplify journeys, save time and encourage more people to consider destinations that may previously have seemed less straightforward to reach. For Gujarat’s travellers, the route offers an appealing new gateway to Hanoi—and, through onward connections, to destinations across Vietnam and beyond.

Supporting Vietnam Airlines’ growth in India
Aeroprime Group, Vietnam Airlines’ Passenger General Sales Agent in India, has supported the carrier’s commercial growth and market development nationwide. Mr. Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director and CEO of Aeroprime Group, called Ahmedabad a significant addition to the airline’s network and a strong reflection of its confidence in India.
He said Aeroprime had worked closely with Vietnam Airlines to strengthen its presence and build demand in key Indian cities. With Ahmedabad becoming the carrier’s fifth Indian station, he sees Gujarat’s business community, rising outbound travel demand and potential for leisure and MICE tourism as important opportunities. The new flights, he added, can further strengthen the India–Vietnam travel corridor.
Partnerships between airlines and local representatives are essential to turning a new route into a lasting success. Building awareness, reaching travellers and businesses, and developing demand all help ensure that fresh connectivity delivers benefits beyond the airport. The collaboration between Vietnam Airlines and Aeroprime is therefore an important part of the airline’s wider effort to grow its presence in India.
A growing India–Vietnam travel corridor
The Ahmedabad launch comes at a time of significant activity in the India–Vietnam aviation market. According to the figures provided in the announcement, more than 4,400 scheduled flights and nearly 820,400 passengers were recorded between the two countries during the first six months of 2026 alone. These numbers point to strong travel demand and underline why India is a key long-term growth market for Vietnam Airlines.
The new route also adds depth to an already expanding network. With services from Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, Vietnam Airlines has established connections across several major Indian markets. Ahmedabad extends that reach westward, giving passengers in Gujarat another option and broadening access to the airline’s network.
The benefits may extend well beyond tourism. More convenient air links can encourage trade, support business visits, help event organisers attract international participants and make it easier for families and communities to stay connected. They can also introduce more Indian visitors to Vietnam’s cities, cuisine, heritage and landscapes, while giving Vietnamese travellers a more direct route to Gujarat.
A promising new chapter
Vietnam Airlines’ planned four-times-weekly Ahmedabad–Hanoi service is an enthusiastic vote of confidence in Gujarat and in the future of India–Vietnam travel. Starting 3 November 2026, the route will connect two energetic markets with a direct link, create fresh opportunities for passengers and businesses, and strengthen the airline’s growing footprint in India.
As Ahmedabad joins Vietnam Airlines’ network as its fifth Indian station, the expansion signals a promising next chapter for connectivity between the two countries. With strong demand, committed partners and a growing range of reasons to travel, the new service has the potential to support tourism, trade and meaningful people-to-people connections—bringing India and Vietnam closer, one flight at a time.
