Cebu Pacific Air Will Receive 15 more Single-Aisle Aircraft Powered by RTX’s Pratt & Whitney

By Staff Correspondent

Cebu Pacific Air (Cebu Pacific) has chosen Pratt & Whitney, an RTX company, to supply GTF engines for ten more A321neo and five more A320neo planes. As part of their EngineWise® Comprehensive service agreement, Pratt & Whitney will also maintain Cebu Pacific’s GTF engines.

“Since 2019, Pratt & Whitney has been supplying GTF power to Cebu Pacific,” stated Rick Deurloo, president of Pratt & Whitney’s Commercial Engines. “The most recent order will receive the GTF engine in 2025, resulting in even greater fuel and carbon emissions savings.”

Among Cebu Pacific’s fleet, 33 planes are part of the A320neo series and powered by GTF. Pratt & Whitney had already supplied the airline with JT8D engines for their DC-9 aircraft before they began supplying GTF power. Cebu Pacific and Pratt & Whitney have been working together since the 1990s.

Cebu Pacific CEO Michael B. Szucs stated, “We continue to grow the number of routes we offer to our passengers while benefiting from lower operating costs.” “As part of our ongoing commitment to reduce our environmental footprint, we have made substantial improvements in fuel burn, which is crucial for us to continue our growth and lower operating costs.”
