Rolls-Royce, a leading aero-engine manufacturer, has announced that it has inked an agreement with Aaran 1 Engineering Private Limited to produce Adour engine components in India. This strategic move is aimed at supporting the global defence customer base of Rolls-Royce.
As part of the company’s broader focus on expanding the Adour supply chain, this partnership with Aaran 1 Engineering, an Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME), highlights the growing potential of Indian MSMEs to contribute to the global defence supply chain. Rolls-Royce has long-standing partnerships in India, particularly for its Adour engines, which have powered Indian military aircraft for several decades.
The Adour engines power several platforms, including the Hawk and Jaguar, that are in service with different military forces across the world. Rolls-Royce’s supply chain for Adour engines in India supports global markets, while also serving the mission-readiness of the defence forces in the country.
Commenting on the agreement, Abhishek Singh, Senior Vice President – Defence, India and South East Asia, Rolls-Royce, said: “We look forward to building on these capabilities and expanding our defence sourcing footprint in India.” Gavin Price – Managing Director, Aaran 1 Engineering, added: “We are delighted to be recognised as a trusted supplier to work on such legendary engine programs.
