GMR Hyderabad International Airport Wins Excellency – Gold Award In Telangana State Energy Conservation Awards – 2021 (TSECA)

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) has clinched the prestigious “Excellency- Gold Award” in “Telangana State Energy Conservation Awards – 2021 (TSECA)”. The award was presented for the excellent initiatives taken by GHIAL in conserving energy. 

At a grand event organized during Energy Conservation Week Celebrations at HITEX Convention Center, Her Excellency –Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Governor of Telangana & Puducherry, presented the award to the senior officials from GHIAL amidst the presence of industry dignitaries and participants.

The annual forum recognizes the companies engaged in Energy Efficiency initiatives that adopt best practices and technological advancement in their daily operations. The jury evaluated the participants on various parameters and innovative thought processes.

Over the last three years, GHIAL energy conservation initiatives have led to a substantial energy saving owing to its consistent and sustainable approach towards energy efficiency measures, which has also led to a quick dip in the GHG (Green House Gas) emissions at the airport. 

Hyderabad International Airport is also a Carbon Neutral Airport having Level 3 + “Neutrality” Accreditation from Airports Council International (ACI) under its Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme. 

GHIAL has been at the forefront of adopting energy efficiency practices. It has received recognition at various industry platforms. 

GHIAL had also won the CII’s prestigious “National Energy Leader Award” in 2019, 2020 & 2021 and is continuously winning the “Excellent Energy Efficient trophy” since 2017 at the CII- GBC flagship energy management program – National Award for Excellence in Energy Management. Further, GHIAL also won the “Certificate of Merit” with the highest score of 89.26% amongst any category in the Bureau of Energy Efficiency’s (BEE) National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) 2021.
