Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Government of India today visited Boeing India and SELCO Foundation-funded 100-oxygenated bed facility at Yelahanka
“It is commendable that industries and NGOs have collaborated with the government in our fight against the Covid battle. Thank you to Boeing India, SELCO Foundation and Doctors for You (DFY) for building an oxygenated super-specialty Covid care facility at Karnataka State Power Corporation Ltd. (KPCL), campus in Yelahanka” said, the Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
The hospital was built from the ground up in less than 20 days. Of the 100-oxygen beds, 10-beds are dedicated for ICU services and 20-beds for the High Dependency Units (HDU) ward. The facility will also have triage, donning and doffing, pharmacy, laboratory, rest areas, nurse stations and meeting rooms for medical staff. The DFY team will comprise specialist and generalist doctors, paramedics, and facility management staff.

Boeing’s funding provides medical equipment, including CT scanners, ventilators, oxygen cylinders, and ambulances to the hospital. Speaking to IADB , Sahil Gupte, Vice President Boeing said,” We have committed 10 Million US$ into India’s fight against Covid and this hospital is testimony to our commitment to work with local communities. In this case we have made a hospital at this campus which has abundant oxygen production.”
Elaborating on the funding of the Community welfare initiatives Sahil Gupte said that this project will help people in need in this area which is not very far from the 43 acres Boeing facility coming up at Devanahalli.
