India’s burgeoning civil aviation sector, driven by two decades of economic growth and an expanding population, faces critical challenges that must be addressed to harness its full potential, according to a recent report from a parliamentary panel headed by Rajya Sabha MP Sujit Kumar.
Limited Airport Profitability
The report’s alarming revelation of the stark contrast between operational airports and limited profitability highlights a pressing concern. Despite having a total of 148 operational airports, only 22 are generating profits. This disparity underlines the urgency for a more calculated approach to airport management and operational strategy.
The Infrastructure Gap
